Daisuke Harashima is research associate of Future Robotics Organization at Waseda University.
He is teaching at Seigakuin University (media studies and informatics), Tokyo Metropolitan University (philosophy of technology and media culture theory), and Rikkyo University (systems theory).
He studied philosophy at Kyoto University and culture theory at the University of Tokyo.
He was researcher at the University of Tokyo Program for Leading Graduate Schools, Integrated Human Sciences Program for Cultural Diversity (IHS).
He is (co-)author of books on humanities and technics, including Critical Words: Media Theory (Filmart, 2021; in Japanese), Autonomy in the Age of Artificial Intelligence [AI jidai no jiritsusei] (Keiso Shobo, 2019; in Japanese), Frontiers of Fundamental Informatics [kiso johogaku no frontiers] (University of Tokyo Press, 2018; in Japanese).
He is translator of Yuk Hui’s Recursivity and Contingency [Saikisei to Guzensei] (Seidosha, 2022; in Japanese) and Tim Ingold’s Being Alive [Ikiteirukoto] (Sayusha, 2021; co-translation, in Japanese).
